One key responsibility is to ensure that mental health is on the state and national agenda of government. Participation in this process can lead to improvements in policy, legislation and service development.
I love having the opportunity to be a voice that helps break stigma by refusing to be a poster child of mental illness, rather choosing to be a billboard of recovery through modeling personal responsibility and service to others.
TMHCA gives me a chance to make a difference in consumers lives across the state by representing their needs and educating our elected officials. One joined voice speaks louder than a single voice. I feel honored to carry this message.
