JORDAN YOUNG

President/CEO

He started his career at TMHCA in 2019 as an employment specialist and certified peer recovery specialist. Since the beginning, his personal recovery journey has fueled his passion for peer support, community empowerment, and recovery education. Jordan has consistently demonstrated a profound commitment to advocacy and a vision rooted in empowerment and inclusion. “From the moment I started working at TMHCA, I felt a deep connection to the mission of this organization, and I have been blessed to work with incredible people who have taught me a great deal. As CEO, I will remain committed to the values that have brought TMHCA to where it is today and a vision of making an even greater impact for years to come.”

MARSHA SHRUM

Director of Support & Crisis Services

Marsha is a life-long resident of Hendersonville, TN, a single parent of 32 years, and a proud grandmother of nine. Joining TMHCA in April 2019, Marsha is a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist and serves as Director of Support & Crisis Services, providing fiscal and programmatic oversight of TMHCA’s statewide grant-operated programs. She oversees operations across three Regional Mental Health Institutes and eight Crisis Stabilization Units and has led the Peer Intensive Care Specialists Program and Advocacy & Education teams. With a strong background in leadership and training, Marsha remains committed to advancing peer support services across Tennessee. She believes she has been given a gift to promote recovery and well-being and to help others see their own worth. Marsha loves people and animals and lives by the quote from Tim Tebow, “Regardless of whatever I do, I know what my purpose is; to make a difference in people lives.”

BRUCE HUFFMAN

Director of Member Engagement

Started with TMHCA in 2019. He aims to lead with heart, creativity, and purpose. As Director of Member Engagement, he oversees TMHCA’s Memphis Peer Support Center along with seven PeerLINK program sites statewide. Blending his theatre background with his passion for recovery, Bruce hopes to inspire others to rediscover their voices and embrace their own stories of growth. Active in TMHCA’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, he believes recovery is a shared journey—built on compassion, respect, and the power of uplifting one another through every challenge toward hope and self-empowerment.

ELIZABETH FREDERICKS

Director of Employment, Education, & Advocacy

She started her career at TMHCA in 2021 as an Employment Specialist and Certified Peer Recovery Specialist. Elizabeth always knew she wanted to help others, and at TMHCA, she found an opportunity to turn some of the darkest moments in her life into a light of hope for others. She has remained deeply committed to serving others, advocating, and inspiring hope. As Director of Employment, Education, and Advocacy, her lived experience continues to shape the way she leads, reminding her of the importance of meeting people where they are and creating opportunities for others to grow. In her role, Elizabeth oversees programs focused on employment, education and training, advocacy, and connecting individuals across Tennessee with resources and opportunities. “I want to continue expanding opportunities, resources, and hope for the people we serve while supporting and empowering the incredible people I have the privilege of working alongside. I want people to know that their experiences do not diminish their value – they can become part of their strength.”

ROBERT SCHOOLFIELD

Associate Director of Support & Crisis Services

Robert Schoolfield serves as Associate Director of the Peer Intensive Care Specialist (PICS) Program at the Tennessee Mental Health Consumers’ Association (TMHCA). He joined TMHCA in 2020 as a Peer Intensive Care Specialist at the Chattanooga Crisis Stabilization Unit and has grown into a statewide leadership role supporting the PICS Program. Drawing from his lived experience and recovery journey, Robert is passionate about peer support, connection, and hope. As an artist and servant leader, he brings creativity, compassion, and a genuine heart for people to his work. He is committed to empowering teams, recognizing strengths, and helping the PICS Program continue to grow and make a meaningful impact across Tennessee.
